The most well-known festivals in Bhutan are known as Tsechus. It offers visitors the opportunity to see colourful mask dances and the religious art forms of Bhutan. The Tsechus are held in honor of Guru Padmasambhava, the Indian saint who is associated with the introduction of Tantric Buddhism in the Himalayan regions of Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal, Ladakh and Tibet almost 1200 years ago. The Tsechus are also a time for people to gather together dressed in their finest clothes, to meet friends, celebrate and receive blessings. Wangdue & Thimphu Tshechu

  Wangdue & Thimphu Tshechu: (7 nights & 8 days) Wangdue and Thimphu tshechu is one of the popular festivals in Bhutan. The dzongs come to life with color, music and dances. Local people dressed in their finest costumes join together to rejoice. Masked dances and sword dances perform in the court yard of dzongs by the monks and the lay people. These dances are performing only once a year and each has its own significance.
